Seals

The Oxford dictionary definition of a seal is

A device or substance that is used to join two things together so as to prevent them coming apart or to prevent anything passing between them.

In other words, a seal is a device that helps join systems or mechanisms together by preventing leakage, containing pressure, or excluding contamination. The imperfect mating parts require some type of ‘sealing device’ to be inserted between them to seal against loss of liquid, gas or solid fluids or particles. There are various types of seals including hydraulic, oil, mechanical and pneumatic seals.

Seals can have a critical impact on system performance. Getting what is often considered a simple component right can make all the difference to products and operations, their life and reliability. Contact ATC today for your sealing requirements.
